School Introduction

Founded in 1868, the University of California, Berkeley is one of the most prestigious public research universities in the United States and a world-class institution located in California. Along with Stanford, Harvard, and MIT, it is known as one of the four academic pillars of American society, and stands as the flagship among over 30 "Public Ivy" universities.

UC Berkeley's Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science programs all rank first in the nation, with over 130 science, engineering, and social science programs consistently ranked in the national Top 10.

Program Details

UC Berkeley's official Pre-College Scholars residential summer program for high school students aged 16–17. Students live on the Berkeley campus over the summer, take 6- or 8-week university courses, and receive an official transcript upon completion.
